Least weasel (Mustela nivalis), artwork. This small carnivorous mammal is found in most of the northern temperate and subarctic regions. It lacks the black tail tip seen in stoats, but is otherwise similar in appearance, although slightly smaller. It feeds mostly on small rodents, such as voles and mice, but will also feed on bird's eggs, bird chicks, insects and lizards.
