Marcel Mechali (born 1949), French geneticist. Mechali directs the Replication and Genome Dynamics group at the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH), Montpellier, France. The group studies chromatin organization and plasticity. Mechali was Director of the Institute from 2002 to 2006. He was elected a Member of the French Academy of Sciences in 2005, and made a Chevalier (Knight) of the Legion of Honour in 2009.
