Bas van Steensel, Dutch geneticist. Van Stenseel was awarded his doctorate in 1995 from the University of Amsterdam. He then worked in the USA until 2000, when he received a fellowship from the Netherlands Academy of Sciences and started a research group at the University of Amsterdam. From 2002, his group has been based at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, studying the regulatory functions of chromatin.
