Semi-permanent fishermans camp at Tanjung Besi, Gam Island. These outsiders from Buton Island, Sulawesi, come here for months at a stretch to fish at night for small fish. This view is inside one of the huts on stilts over the water where a woman is preparing rice and fish for men preparing to go out fishing for the night. The jerrycans are their water supply, which must be hauled from a spring. Raja Ampat Islands, Indonesia, May 2007
