Plant odour research. Dodder (Cuscuta sp.) plants (yellow vines) parasitising tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) plants in a laboratory during research into how plants perceive and respond to odours. This research has shown that the dodder, which is parasitic on tomatoes, uses the unique odours given off by the tomato to recognise and grow towards the plant.
