Oct and Sox transcription factors. Molecular model of Sox2 (blue) and Oct4 (green) transcription factors bound to a molecule of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, pink and red). Transcription factors are proteins that bind to specific sequences of DNA and control the transcription (transfer) of genetic information from DNA to RNA (ribonucleic acid). Oct4 and Sox2 act in embryonic stem cells.
