Extinct rhino jaw fossil. Fossilised lower jaw and teeth of a European rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus hemitoechus). Dicerorhinus is an extinct genus of rhinoceros native to northern Eurasia that lived during the Middle and early Late Pleistocene epoch (around 780,000-120,000 years ago). It had two horns and was a relatively large rhino, weighing over 3,000, having a size similar to today's white rhino.
