Stephan's Quintet of galaxies. Four of the five galaxies that make up the grouping of Stephan's Quintet, in the constellation of Pegasus. First noted in 1877 by M.E. Stephan, it has also been known as Stephan's Quartet since the discovery that one of the galaxies (NGC 7320, lower centre) is much closer to Earth than the others, lying coincidentally along the line of sight.
