Interacting galaxies NGC 1532 (edge-on, centre) and NGC 1531 (above and right of NGC 1532). The gravitation field of the smaller galaxy has triggered a spurt of star formation (brighter areas) in NGC 1532 and has also distorted its shape. This pair of galaxies lies around 70 million light years from Earth in the constellation Eridanus.
