Alien planet. Artwork of the planets & their orbits (blue lines) in the Rho 1 Cancri or 55 Cancri binary star system. The 55 Cancri b planet orbits close to the sun-like, yellow star (in background). It completes an orbit in 14.76 days and has a mass which is at least 80% of Jupiter's. The 55 Cancri c planet (at lower centre) orbits at about the same distance as Saturn does from our Sun. This planet has a mass which is at least 5 times that of Jupiter. The planet's hypothetical moon is at upper left. The other star in this system, a red dwarf, is shown as a red dot at upper centre. These planets were discovered by Geoff Marcy and Paul Butler.
