M35 open star cluster, optical image. M35 (upper left) contains a couple of hundred stars, is some 110 million years old and lies about 2800 light years away in the constellation Gemini. Also seen is a more distant open star cluster, NGC 2158 (lower right), which is some 16,000 light years distant and about 10 times older.
