Cassiopeia constellation. Optical image of the constellation Cassiopeia, the queen. North is at top. The W shape of bright stars forms the queen's throne. From upper left to centre right, these stars are: Segin (Epsilon Cassiopeiae), Ruchbah (Delta Cas.), Tsih (Gamma Cas.), Schedar (Alpha Cas.) and Caph (Beta Cas.). The Milky Way runs through Cassiopeia. It is the band of light seen in the sky formed from the millions of stars in the plane of our galaxy. The Milky Way contains several star clusters and nebulae. The red emission nebula NGC 281 is seen just to the left of Schedar.
