Pegasus constellation. Optical image of the constellation Pegasus, the winged horse. North is at top. The body of the horse is formed from the square of stars at lower left. Clockwise from the orange star just left of centre (Scheat, or Beta Pegasi), these are Markab (Alpha Pegasi), Algenib (Gamma Pegasi) and Alpheratz (Alpha Andromedae). Alpheratz is not actually part of Pegasus, instead lying in neighbouring Andromeda. The horse's nose is Enif (Epsilon Pegasi), at lower right. The bright star at upper right is Deneb (Alpha Cygni) in the constellation Cygnus (the swan). To its right is the red North America nebula (NGC 7000). Part of the Milky Way is also seen at upper right.
