The Sun's disk is much smaller than the Earth, as seen from the Moon, so the Sun will be totally obscured by the Earth. This totality has not yet occurred here, since part of the Sun is still visible. Even during totality the scattering of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere (the red ring around the Earth) shines red light on the Moon. Those on the night side of the Earth will see a Full Moon turn a red colour as part of a lunar eclipse.
