Huygens probe's landing site. Cassini spacecraft image, taken through near-infrared filters, of the Huygens probe's intended landing site on the surface of Saturn's moon Titan. The landing site is indicated by a square in the right-hand image, the left-hand image shows a 400 kilometre wide narrow-angle shot of the site. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons. The Huygens probe was released in December 2005 and reached the moon's surface on 14 January 2005. This image was taken during Cassini's flyby on 27 October 2004.
