Miralaidji Corona, Venus. Computer-generated perspective view of Miralaidji Corona, a large volcanic feature in Aphrodite Terra, Venus. This was caused by a rising plume of magma below the surface. This partially melted and raised the crustal rock, leaving this 'blister'-like formation with its characteristic radial faulting. This image was derived from radar data gathered by the Magellan spacecraft. The perspective view has an exaggerated vertical scale to emphasise surface features, with colours added to reflect the basaltic rocks of the surface. The cloud cover and atmospheric haze are computer generated.
