Optical photograph of the zodiacal light, together with Mars (top edge), Jupiter (brightest object) and Saturn (below Jupiter) seen in the constellation of Leo. The zodiacal light is a permanent phenom- enon which can be seen as a faint glow after sunset, especially at tropical latitudes. It is the result of sunlight scattering off a belt of tiny dust particles in interplanetary space. 24mm, f/2.8, Fuji R100, 1232-1246 UT, 21 October 1979, Anza site.
