This was visible from an area that included India, the islands of Indonesia and Malaysia, and parts of Australia. Later studies of photographic plates exposed during this eclipse, resulted in the first satisfactory representation of the structure of the corona, the outer part of the Sun's atmosphere, seen only during eclipses.
