The Jefferson Memorial (opened in 1943) is dedicated to Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), the third president of the USA. The memorial building is in the style of the Pantheon in Rome. It is situated in West Potomac Park, on the shores of the Potomac River Tidal Basin (upper left).
