MODEL RELEASED. Typhoon fighter jet test pilot Keith Hartley, chief test pilot for BAE Systems, standing in front of a Eurofighter Typhoon jet. The Eurofighter Typhoon has been developed as the most advanced fighter jet in the world. It is an aerodynamically unstable aircraft that is flown by a computerised flight control system. This allows great agility and a great degree of automation. It is designed to be adapted to different weapons configurations. The Eurofighter is a joint project between the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain. It began in 1994. The first Eurofighter Typhoons are due to enter service in 2003. Photographed in 2000 at BAE Systems Warton, Manchester, UK.
