Thermocouple. Gas temperature sensor and its digital meter. Thermocouples work by using two lengths of different metals. These lengths are joined at the top and connected to a voltmeter at the bottom. When there is a temperature disparity between the top and bottom, an electromotive force is produced which is roughly proportional to the temperature difference.
