The supercomputer can be accessed remotely by users wishing to analyse large amounts of data, for example in the fields of bioinformatics, computational structural mechanics, atmospheric science and seismic data processing. Dr Chattopadhyay is head of the System Engineering and Networking Group at the Centre for Advanced Computing in Bangalore, India, where the Param Padma supercomputer was developed and is located.
