Personal shopping advisor. This computer, which is attached to a supermarket trolley, displays nutritional advice and information. As the shopper passes through the shop, various goods can be scanned via barcode or information picked up wirelessly using radio frequency identification technology (RFID). The computer was developed by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Agelab. It was developed to provide elderly shoppers with personal diet information at the point of decision.
