MODEL RELEASED. Troody dinosaur robot. Roboticist Peter Dilworth holding his prototype dinosaur robot Troody. This prototype is able to stand up, sit down and to take single steps. Dilworth based his designs for Troody on the carnivorous dinosaur Troodon, which lived during the Cretaceous period (around 144-74 million years ago). Troody is a prototype for dinosaur-like robots that will be able to run freely, without connections to wires. Dilworth hopes that these will be used as walking exhibits in museums. Dilworth works at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Leg Laboratory in Cambridge, USA. Photographed near the Charles River, Cambridge.
