Trawsfynydd nuclear power station in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. This was the only British nuclear power station to be built inland. It used Lake Trawsfynydd (in the foreground) as a source of cooling water. The station operated from 1965 until 1993. It no longer generates electricity and the nuclear fuel has been removed. This photograph was taken while the power station was still operational.
