Wild Fire Mk VI spacecraft separating above the Earth, computer artwork. This spacecraft, part of the Golden Palace.com Space Program Powered by the da Vinci Project, is a competitor for the Ansari X-Prize. This is a $10m award for the first private company to launch a reusable spacecraft to an altitude of over 100 kilometres twice within two weeks. The Wild Fire Mk VI rocket is taken to an altitude of around 24 kilometres by the world's largest reusable helium balloon. Its rocket engine will then fire, taking it to over 100 kilometres. The craft then separates, with both the spherical cockpit and the rocket section returning to Earth by parachute.
