Horowitz, pilot; Franklin R. Chang-Diaz, payload commander; Maurizio Cheli, Jeffrey A. Hoffman and Claude Nicollier, mission specialists; and Umberto Guidioni, an Italian payload specialist. The object of the mission was to perform various experiments. Columbia returned safely on 9 March 1996.
