The round feature in the centre of the cells (particularly clear in lower right) are the cell somata. Extending from these are the dendrites, the main recipient surfaces of the neurons. The very thin projections from the cell soma are axons, the channels through which the neuron exerts its influence on surrounding cells. Magnification x125 at 35mm size.
