Fallopian tube test, endoscope view. Surgical tools (upper right and upper left) are being used to hold back abdominal organs and reveal one of the ovaries (white). Methylene blue dye (blue) has been injected into the fallopian tubes through the uterus. This is to test whether the tubes are blocked. The dye (lower centre) is emerging from the fimbrial end of the fallopian tube (the tube is at left of the ovary). The appearance of the dye shows that the tube is not blocked. The red structure (dot) on the ovary may be a stage in the development of a Graafian follicle, the structure that releases an egg during ovulation.
