Home pregnancy test, positive result. Test stick used to test urine for a hormone produced during a pregnancy. An absorbent tip (not seen) is dipped in a urine sample. Lines (pink) in the result windows show the results. Two lines indicates that the woman is pregnant. One line indicates that the test worked and she is not pregnant. No lines will appear if the test is broken. The hormone that is detected is human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) hormone. This is produced by the placenta, the organ that attaches an embryo to the wall of the uterus. This is a First Response pregnancy test.
