MODEL RELEASED. Full head brace being worn by a fourteen year old girl. The metal structure is a facebow which is used to move the upper molars back to provide more room for the front teeth. A horseshoe-shaped section of metal wire fits inside the mouth and connects with buccal tubes fitted on the upper molars. The outer part of the facebow curves around the cheeks and connects with high pull headgear (not seen), which applies the force to move the molars. She also has fixed dental braces to correct poor alignment and overcrowding of the teeth. The facebow should be worn for between 12 and 14 hours per day, including at night.
