Bioelectromagnetic pain relief patches. These self-adhesive plasters (right) contain zinc and copper in a magnetic field. The patches are placed on the skin over an area of muscle or joint pain, or at an acupressure point, for example the wrist, ankle or temple. 'Acumed' is based on 'biomagnetics', which is the use of electromagnetic fields on acupuncture points. Each patch emits small energy fields that are claimed to have a soothing effect and to stimulate the body's natural pain relief mechanism. The packaging and instruction leaflet are also seen.
