Preventative measures against malaria. A selection of mosquito repellents and chemoprophylactic drugs used to prevent malaria. At left is a device for producing an anti-mosquito vapour by heating a small tablet of a chemical. Just right of this is a roll-on mosquito repellent preparation. The flat pack at right contains Avloclor tablets (250mg, generic name chloroquine phosphate), the bottle at the front contains Paludrine tablets (100mg, generic name proguanil hydrochloride). Despite the efficacy of the drugs, the use of repellents and mosquito nets is advised to prevent being bitten.
