Patient wearing TeNS pads. TeNS (Transcutaneous electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a method for relieving pain. A modulated electrical current is passed between the two pads on the skin. The current is supposed to block the nerve signalling pathway, thus preventing pain signals reaching the brain and being felt. Although TeNS may offer some pain relief, it is not intended as a curative therapy. These pads are positioned to relieve lower back pain.
