Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) pills. Circular dispenser of Kliofem HRT, with the days of the week seen next to each pill. The dispenser contains enough pills for use over the four week period of a woman's menstrual cycle. Kliofem is a combined HRT treatment, containing both oestradiol (oestrogen) and norethisterone (progestogen) female hormones. HRT usually involves taking a combination of oestrogen and progesterone hormones to replace the deficiency of female sex hormones that occurs in women at menopause. The therapy helps prevent osteoporosis (brittle bone disease), atherosclerosis and atrophic vaginitis (where the vagina becomes thin and dry).
