Argon laser treatment of port-wine stains (haemangioma) on neck of young girl. The blue- green light of the laser is selectively absorbed by the red pigment in abnormally enlarged blood vessels that cause the stain. Dilated vessels are burned and sealed off while normal skin tissue is undamaged.
