MODEL RELEASED. Heart artery implant. Surgeon holds an intraluminal stent which will be implanted into a coronary artery of the heart to hold it open whilst it heals. The stent is used after an artery has been transplanted in heart bypass surgery, and to treat acute vessel closure after the artery's structure has been altered by a surgical procedure (angioplasty). The stent keeps the artery open using a self-expanding mesh.
