Radiation burns on Yamaguchi, a boy from Nagasaki, Japan. The second-degree flash burns were caused by the atomic bomb that exploded above Nagasaki at 11:02am on 9 August 1945. At least 74,000 people died and 75,000 were injured. Another atomic bomb had previously been detonated over the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
