Erythema multiforme rash on a patient's hand. This skin disorder starts with itchy spots, which then progress to these circular weals. Sometimes the body's internal mucous membranes are affected. Erythema multiforme may arise as an allergic reaction to medication, or accompany an infection. Some cases occur for no obvious reason. Treatment involves identifying possible causes and using drugs to treat the inflammation.
