Monitoring of stomach dyspepsia. False-colour computer enhanced gamma scan of the human stomach with dyspepsia (indigestion) during tests to study its rate of emptying. Here, at 1 hour 30 minutes after swallowing a radioactive fluid, the stomach (centre, yellow) contains some radioactive fluid, concentrated in red areas, while other fluid has passed into the intestine (lower centre). This is the second in a series of images (see: M140/120 and M140/122). Dyspepsia or indigestion is a common term for a variety of eating and digestive disorders. It may be caused by incorrect diet, peptic ulcer, stress or disease, and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
