The carcinoma (pink area) extends over his entire right arm and shoulder, as well as the right-hand side of his neck and chest. It has become infected with a combination of five fungi in a condition named chromoblastomycosis. A carcinoma is a type of cancer that arises from epithelial tissue. The skin is one of the organs containing epithelial tissue. Treatment for widespread cancer involves chemotherapy. Fungal infections are treated with anti-fungal drugs.
