Liver cancer. Gross clinical specimen of primary malignant (cancerous) tumours (neoplasms, grey) of the liver. The most common form of liver cancer, a hepatoma, is associated with viral hepatitis infections. It results in weight loss, pain and jaundice. If diagnosed early, and not complicated by cirrhosis, surgery to remove the tumour is possible. In this case, anticancer drugs allowed the patient to survive longer.
