Paul de la Blanch. Drawing of Paul Vidal de la Blanch (1845-1918), French geographer. De la Blanch specialised in the field of regional geography. He believed each region had a unique character determined by its soil, climate, vegetation and human occupation. De la Blanch studied the interaction of these factors to produce valid generalisations for regions of a similar type.
