Tree frog research. Male biologist studying tree frogs (Phyllomedusa bicolor). These frogs produce peptides (small chains of protein-forming amino acids) from their skin glands. Some of the peptides have pharmaceutical properties, namely as painkillers (dermorphins) and antibiotics (dermaseptins). These frogs live in the Amazon. Photographed at the Peptide Bioactivation Laboratory of the Institut Jacques-Monod, France.
