Regrowing cycad tree after a forest fire. These shoots are emerging from the top of the tree's trunk in response to a recent forest fire. They will develop into palm-like fronds, replacing the ones lost in the fire. This is a Cycas media tree, found in sparse forests and on rocky hillsides in tropical, sub-tropical and warm temperate regions of north-eastern Australia and in New Guinea. Photographed in northern Queensland, Australia.
