Bull banksia seed cone. Bull banksia (Banksia grandis) is a dark green shrub that produces 30- centimetre-long yellow flower spikes. After pollination the seeds are produced in this cone- like structure. It requires the heat of a fire for the seeds to be released. Such plants are called pyrophytes. Bull banksia is native to West Australia.
