Dandelion seed-head. Dandelion (Taraxacum sp.) seed-heads are also known as clocks. The plant is often classed as a weed. Each individual seed is attached to a parachute of fine hairs, which are lifted from the composite seed-head and carried by the wind to a new location. The fine hairs may attach to the fur of passing animals or human clothing and be carried to a new location.
