Wild plant (unidentified) flowering amid the rocks of a volcanic eruption. Life has returned to the area around the volcano Mount St Helens (upper left), despite the devastation caused by the 1980 eruption. A titanic blast during the eruption ripped out the north face of the volcano, as seen at upper centre. The blast devastated an area of 600 square kilometres. Photographed in Washington State, USA, in 2000.
