Orchid flower (Dendrobium lodigesii). The frilled petal (orange/white/pink) is a specialised petal called a lip. It attracts pollinators and provides them with a landing platform. This is a lithophytic orchid (one that grows on rocks). It is found in tropical areas in parts of South-East Asia. There are more than 30,000 species of orchids worldwide, many of which are grown as ornamental flowers.
