Rose bush suffering from black spot, an infection of the fungus Diplocarpon rosae. Black spot is an extremely common disease of both cultivated and wild roses. The worst attacks occur in warm, moist seasons and in heavily-pruned plants. Roses growing in highly industrialised areas are less likely to suffer from the disease.
